Tips to Create a Comfortable Kitchen for a Big Family
If you have a big family, your kitchen will definitely be the busiest room of the house. To make your kitchen remains comfortable and doesn’t feel stuffy, here are several tips that you can apply.
Create a cooking schedule
Write a cooking schedule on a piece of paper and paste it on the refrigerator. This schedule may contain what time you should cook, who will cook, and what meals should be prepared. Additionally, you can also write your foodstuff stock in this schedule so you can adjust your shopping schedule.
Make storage notes
Besides cooking notes, make a list of kitchen items and where they are stored. For example, you have 10 plates and all are stored in the top drawer of the kitchen set. By doing so, your items will look neater and well-organized and it will also allow you to take a certain item easily when you need it.
Must be clean
Don’t leave dirty dishes even just one in the sink. After a meal, you and your family should wash the dishes immediately. It is because dirty dishes will create a bad smell. In addition, washing the dishes after a meal will also be easier because there aren’t many dishes.
Replace all napkins
Napkins in the kitchen contain a lot of bacteria and germs. Moreover, a napkin that is used for a long time tends to be humid and can cause the growth of mold. So, as much as possible, replace the napkin every 2 days. Besides that, differentiate the function of each napkin, for example, a napkin used for wiping the plates should be different from a napkin used for wiping the table.
Check the refrigerator
If you have a big family, the content of your refrigerator will be more diverse. Do a refrigerator sweeping once a week to remove expired foods or foods that are not fit for consumption anymore.
